Two key Super Eagles of Nigeria stars, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, have been declared unavailable for the friendly matches against Poland and Portugal in June.
The three-time African champions are scheduled to face Poland in Warsaw on Wednesday before taking on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in Leiria on June 10.
Both Osimhen and Lookman were originally in Eric Chelle’s squad when the squad was announced two weeks ago, but will not be available for the high-profile matches due to club-related issues.
“We miss two players because Victor Osimhen maybe he is about to change club so I prefer he stays at home because if he plays and is not at 100 percent is not good,” Chelle told the Super Eagles media team.
“For Lookman he is very tired and Atletico Madrid asked us to excuse him.”
Chelle was speaking after he led a second-string Super Eagles squad to retain the Unity Cup in London on Saturday night.
The Super Eagles outclassed Jamaica 3-0 in the four-nation tournament’s final to keep the trophy they also won last year.
